The Final Dawn Quest Guide – Bosses(OSRS Doom Boss), Puzzles, and Tips

Jul-24-2025 PST

The Final Dawn is a brand new quest in Old School RuneScape that continues the storyline from Perilous Moons and leads you to a tough new boss called Doom. This guide gives you a step-by-step walkthrough of the quest, covering key items, puzzle solutions, and boss mechanics. It's based on a day-one experience, so it may be rough in places, but it will get you through the quest and to the final fight.

Getting Started

To begin the quest, talk to Servius. A short cutscene plays, and then you'll want to teleport to the Twilight Temple using the Pendant of Eights. If you've destroyed your emissary robes, don't worry—you can grab a new set from a chest nearby.

Put the robes on and head to the altar room. Enter a password to go downstairs: first pick “Final,” then “Dawn.”

Stealth and Puzzle Rooms

After going downstairs, you'll sneak past an enforcer using side entrances to avoid being caught. Enter the southern room and search the bed for a key, then go to the northern room and open the drawers to find a piece of canvas. Use the canvas on a painting to unlock a hidden passage.

In the next room, you'll solve a number puzzle. It's a simple process of trial and error—guess four numbers and adjust based on the color feedback, just like Mastermind puzzles from other quests.

Once solved, pick up a scroll and prepare for the first boss.

Boss Fight 1 – The Enforcer

This boss has no prayer allowed, so you'll need to kite it. Range or magic works best. Its attacks are slow and easy to avoid by running in circles. Once it's dead, pick the scroll back up and take it to the Queen. Then head out to find Forebear Janice.

Janice's House Puzzle

To get in, climb through a window and use bones on the dog to calm it. Enter the door with the code “Gus.” Inside, collect a knife, bucket, branch, and coin pouch. Empty a sack of potatoes to get an empty sack. Combine your items to make a makeshift blackjack and use it to knock out Janice.

Cantorm and Brewery Puzzle

Buy a beer and give it to Gana, then head downstairs. You'll need to match specific drinks with barrels:

· Normal barrel = beer

· Bubbling barrel = Wizard's mind bomb

· Black-stained = Dwarven stout

· Steaming = Steam forge brew

· Final barrel = use an empty beer glass

After placing all correctly, a fireplace opens. Pull the lever and go through.

Keystone Navigation

You'll receive a keystone fragment. Touch it and follow the direction it tells you (e.g., northeast). When it shakes and resets, touch it again and keep following the directions until you reach a new area.

Demi-Boss Fight – Range and Mage Pair

Two mini-bosses guard the way forward. One uses ranged and fires shadow arrows (don't stand in the shadows), the other uses magic and shoots a wave (stand inside the highlighted area to block it). Kill them both, using protection prayers and high DPS gear.

Warrior Defense Waves

Next, you'll defend two warriors from waves of enemies. A blowpipe works well here. Kill emissaries and brawlers fast and keep the warriors alive. Focus on the one with lower HP if needed.

Boss Fight – Doom Phase 1

Protect from melee and use melee gear. Doom has multiple attacks:

· AGS slam: stand on a glowing tile

· Ground fire: avoid the fire lines

· Prayer drain

Move quickly and hit hard until about 70% of his HP is gone.

Doom Phase 2

Now Doom switches between ranged and magic. He uses wave attacks and teleport tiles:

· Wave attacks: dodge like in previous bosses

· AGS slam: stand on the glowing circle

· Teleports: stand on the teleport pad after the wave passes

Later in the fight, you'll be teleported repeatedly. Attack as soon as you land, then move to the next tile. Keep your HP high, switch protection prayers fast, and finish the fight.

Puzzle Room – Altar Imbuing

In the next area, you'll find a statue with three lines. These are translated into numbers (your answers may vary, like 8-4-10). Use essence from nearby urns and:

· Stand on the first number

· Move LA (the NPC) to the second number

· Imbue at the altar

Repeat this three times to complete the puzzle.

Puzzle – Braziers and Tree Roots

Move LA between platforms to disable colored flames. Collect tree roots, fletch them into kindling, and count lit braziers on each side. Enter the total number on the statue to complete it. Do this three times to move on.

Final Boss – True Doom

This fight is the hardest in the quest. Protect from ranged and stay near the center of the room to react to:

· Wave attacks

· Prayer drains

· AGS slam

· Teleports

Later, he'll start teleporting you nonstop. The only way to finish the fight is to keep hitting him between teleports. Don't wait—attack right away when you land.

Quest Completion

After the final battle, you'll find a tablet and get teleported out. Quest complete!

Rewards:

· 25,000 XP in Fletching and Runecrafting

· 55,000 XP in Thieving

· 55,000 Combat XP lamp (can be used on Prayer)

· The Arkan Blade, a powerful new weapon

Final Thoughts

The Final Dawn is one of the more complex and cinematic quests in OSRS. The puzzles are fresh, and the final boss, Doom, is one of the most mechanically intense fights in the game so far. Whether you're here for the story, the challenge, or the new weapon, this quest is well worth doing—and this guide should help you through it. Good luck out there!
