OSRS Perilous Moons Quest Guide
Mar-27-2026 PSTReady to tackle the Perilous Moons quest in Old School RuneScape? This quest is packed with rewards, challenging bosses, and exciting content, including access to Napotsley and the Moons of Peril bosses. Completing it will net you 40,000 Slayer XP, 5,000 XP each in Rune Crafting, Hunter, and Fishing, plus two quest points. However, you’ll first need to have completed the Twilight’s Promise quest.
Here’s everything you need to know to complete Perilous Moons, from skill requirements to boss mechanics and recommended strategies.
Skill and Combat Requirements
To begin, you’ll need the following minimum skills:
· Slayer: 48
· Hunter: 20
· Fishing: 20
· Rune Crafting: 20
· Construction: 10
That said, for a smoother experience, 75 combat is officially recommended. Considering the Moon's bosses and their mechanics—where protection prayers don’t work—you’ll want:
· Base 60 melee combat stats, especially Defense
· Minimum 28 Prayer for access to Steel Skin
· 38 Herblore to make Moonlight Potions
· 36+ Hunter, 54+ Cooking, and 54+ Fishing for extra efficiency
Your combat stats are the most critical factor. The Blood Moon, in particular, heals when dealing damage to you, so low defense or weak melee stats can make it impossible to beat.

Gear and Items
Combat is entirely melee-focused, and each Moon has a different weakness:
· Eclipse Moon: Stab
· Blue Moon: Crush
· Blood Moon: Slash
Weapon choices:
· Eclipse Moon: Slow, hard-hitting stab weapon
· Blue Moon: Dual-hit crush weapon (e.g., Glacial Tamley)
· Blood Moon: Slash weapon
Armor and defense:
· High melee defense is essential. Barrows or Dragon armor is ideal; Rune armor is the minimum.
· Accessories like Fury and Steel Ring can boost melee defense further.
Potions and food:
· If below 38 Herblore, bring 2 Super Combat Potions and 6 Prayer Potions
· If below 36 Hunter or 54 Cooking/Fishing, bring 60+ high-healing food (sharks, tuna potatoes)
· Emergency teleports are highly recommended
For the rest of the quest, you’ll also need:
· Weight-reducing armor and 2 stamina potions
· 4–8 pieces of high-healing food
· Crush weapon for the Napotsley dungeon and the level 98 Sulfur Nagua
· Optional: 10 quitzel feed, 4 soft clay, 3 limestone bricks to build a quitzel landing site
Quest Start
Begin in Civotus Ila Forortis, at the main fountain south of the palace. From here:
· With 47 Agility, you can use the agility shortcut over rocks to reach the quest start.
· Without 47 Agility, follow the dirt track south and east to the quest start.
If you brought materials for a quitzel landing site, build it now for easy travel throughout the quest. Then, talk to Zuma or Atala to officially start the quest.
Key Quest Steps
1. Defeat the Sulfur Nagua: Found just up the mountain from the agility obstacle, weak to crush attacks. Straightforward fight.
2. Enter Camorum: After returning to the quest start, speak to Zuma or Atala to gain access to the city. Run north, ignoring hostile dwarves, and meet Jessimine, Atala, and Zuma on the platform.
3. Build Camps in Napotsley Dungeon: Collect building supplies, saw, and hammer to create camp spots, which restore run energy. You’ll need three camps throughout the dungeon.
4. Collect Talismans and Supplies:
· Water and Earth Talismans are essential to locate Aya Tali (Ya).
· Gather OSRS gold, fishing, hunting, and herb supplies to create Moonlight Potions, which act as both super combat and prayer potions.
5. Prepare for the Moons of Peril Bosses: Bank unneeded items, equip your best melee defense gear, and ensure you have all three weapons and emergency teleports ready.
Boss Fight Strategies
Eclipse Moon
· Weak to: Stab
· Mechanics:
· Attacks three times at once (max total 32)
· Stand on highlighted moon tiles during standard attacks to avoid damage
· Two special attacks: Shield (follow the moving orb) and Clone (attack clones quickly to reflect damage)
· Tip: Slow, hard-hitting stab weapon preferred
Blue Moon
· Weak to: Crush
· Mechanics:
· Similar three-hit attack system
· Dual-hit crush weapons are effective due to the boss’s flat armor bonus (+5)
· Two special attacks: Weapon Prison (break glowing ice blocks while avoiding spikes) and Frost Storm (light brazers while avoiding tornadoes)
Blood Moon
· Weak to: Slash
· Mechanics:
· Heals when it damages you; high defense is critical
· Three-hit attack system
· Special attacks: Blood Rain (avoid falling blood) and Jaguars (damage jaguars while dodging bloodpools)
· Tip: Requires careful timing and strong melee stats to overcome its healing effect
Quest Completion and Rewards
After defeating the three moons:
· Return to the anti-chamber, speak to Zuma and Ya to finish the quest
· Rewards:
· Access to Camorum and Nepoti
· Moons of Peril bosses unlocked
· 40,000 Slayer XP
· 5,000 XP each in Rune Crafting, Hunter, and Fishing
· 2 Quest Points
· Claim your Luna Chest for additional loot
Final Tips
· Focus on melee combat stats first; everything else is secondary.
· Use Moonlight Potions to reduce reliance on separate super combat and prayer potions.
· Plan your route and inventory for efficiency; some steps differ for each player, especially locating Aya Tali.
· Practice boss mechanics in advance; the Blood Moon is particularly punishing for lower-defense players.
With the right preparation, strategy, and gear, Perilous Moons can be an exciting and rewarding OSRS quest that adds a challenging twist to your adventure.
