OSRS Agility Guide: Level 1 to 99 Train (2025)
Apr-23-2025 PSTAgility has changed a lot over the past few years in OSRS. If you haven't trained it in a while, you'll probably notice that some of the older methods just aren't worth doing anymore. With the recent changes to how energy drains, agility has become more important than ever, especially for getting around the game faster and more efficiently.
This guide breaks down the best ways to train agility from level 1 to 99, covering experience rates and some extra benefits you might get from training at certain places. I'll also cover what gear to use and when it's better to just do something else instead of grinding XP.
Gear and Supplies
There's no truly AFK agility training. Some methods are just less intense than others. Since the skill is slow to train, it's recommended to stick with the faster (less chill) methods when you can, even if they require more effort.
As for gear, anything that reduces weight helps. Early on, go for:
• Boots of Lightness
• Spottier Cape (from Hunter)
• Penance Gloves (from Barbarian Assault)
Eventually, you'll want full Graceful for maximum run energy restoration. But don't waste early levels grinding Marks of Grace just to get it—wait until you're at a better course.
Potions can help too:
• Stamina potions restore 20 run energy and slow down your drain rate.
• Energy potions just restore energy but don't reduce drain.
You won't need these at every course, but they're helpful if you find yourself walking a lot.
Levels 1–30: Use Quests, Not Courses
Don't start training agility right away—let quests do the work early on. These quests offer decent agility XP and are usually required for other unlocks anyway:
• Tourist Trap (Can choose to put XP into agility—highly recommended)
• The Grand Tree
• Recruitment Drive
• The Depths of Despair
With these, you can get to around level 30 agility without touching a course. If you hate agility, dump your lamps and Tears of Guthix XP into it too.
But if you want to grind from level 1:
• Do the Draynor Village Rooftop course until level 20 (about 9k XP/hr).
• Then move on to Al Kharid Rooftop for a little more XP (11k/hr).
Level 20–40: Brimhaven Agility Dungeon (Best Method)
Brimhaven used to be dead content, but now it's one of the best agility training spots in the game. Here's how it works:
• Pay 200 coins to enter (bring more if you plan to log out and come back).
• Your goal is to tag the moving pillar marked with an arrow every minute.
• You earn Agility Tickets and Vouchers each time.
• Spam the floor spike trap while waiting—this alone is about 30k XP/hr.
At level 20, with a little bit of pillar tagging, you can get around 50k XP/hr, which is insane for such a low level.
Tips:
• Wear light gear or fashioncape.
• Bring food for trap failures.
• Use summer pies to temporarily boost agility to hit the next XP bracket for pillar rewards.
• Wear Karamja Gloves when redeeming tickets for bonus XP
Level 30–40: Skip Rooftops
You unlock Varrock Rooftop at level 30, but it only gives around 11k XP/hr. Compared to Brimhaven's 50k/hr, it's just not worth it. Marks of grace aren't a priority right now. Stick with Brimhaven.
Level 40–50: Keep Going at Brimhaven
Now that you can use all obstacles in Brimhaven, it becomes even more efficient. You'll fail fewer traps and reach the pillar more easily, letting you get even more XP from spike trap spamming.
You also unlock:
• Canifis Rooftop: 14k XP/hr. Still not worth doing.
• Ape Atoll Agility Course (Monkey Madness I required): Good for pet hunters and cosmetic items, but fail rates are high at level 48. Wait until you're higher level if you're interested in the monkey backpack.
Level 50–60: Still Brimhaven or Try Wilderness Course
More options open up at 50, but Brimhaven still wins for most players.
Here's what you unlock:
• Falador Rooftop: ~30k XP/hr, not terrible but still worse than Brimhaven.
• Wilderness Agility Course: 50–60k XP/hr + potential 3M GP/hr from loot. Sounds great, but:
o You need to pay 150k GP to access loot.
o It's located deep in the Wilderness, so dying to PKers is common.
o Some protected worlds exist, but it's risky.
Unless you're okay with losing supplies or want the OSRS gold, Brimhaven remains more reliable and safer.
Level 60–70: Time for Rooftops (Sears Village)
At level 60, the Seers' Village Rooftop Course becomes available. This is the first time rooftops are worth doing.
• Without the Kandarin Hard Diary: ~40k XP/hr
• With the diary: You teleport closer to the start, boosting XP to ~55k/hr
• You also start making real progress toward full Graceful now.
This is a good spot to camp for a while, especially if you haven't started collecting Graceful pieces yet.
Level 70–80: Rellekka or Hallowed Sepulchre
Now you have more choices:
• Rellekka Rooftop: 45k–50k XP/hr
• Hallowed Sepulchre (starting at 52 Agility): Starts slower but scales fast
o Level 70 agility lets you complete more floors
o Great XP and good loot
o Requires focus and has a learning curve
If you're comfortable with Sepulchre, it's easily the best experience. If you want a less intense option, stick with rooftops for now.
Level 80–90: Pollnivneach or Hallowed Sepulchre
At level 80, the Pollnivneach Rooftop Course unlocks, giving around 55k–60k XP/hr. It's a solid pick for anyone who doesn't want to deal with Sepulchre mechanics.
But if you've learned the Hallowed Sepulchre, now's the time it becomes the best XP in the game (up to 70k–80k/hr depending on your floor access and speed). Plus, you can get the Ring of Endurance, graceful dye, and other useful rewards.
Level 90–99: Ardougne or Stick with Sepulchre
Once you hit 90 agility:
• Ardougne Rooftop Course becomes available.
o With the Ardougne Elite Diary, it's a smooth 60k–65k XP/hr.
o Easy, consistent, and gives marks of grace.
If you're tired of clicking and just want consistent XP while watching a show, Ardougne is a good endgame course.
If you're still motivated and focused, Hallowed Sepulchre remains faster (75k–90k XP/hr depending on performance).
Final Thoughts
Agility is one of the slowest and most click-intensive skills in the game. But with newer methods like Brimhaven and the Wilderness Course, it's much more tolerable than it used to be.
Here's the quick recap of the best path from 1 to 99:
• 1–30: Quest your way up
• 30–60: Brimhaven Agility Dungeon
• 60–70: Seers' Village Rooftop
• 70–80: Rellekka or Hallowed Sepulchre
• 80–90: Pollnivneach or Hallowed Sepulchre
• 90–99: Ardougne or continue Sepulchre
Train it however you want—what matters most is finding a method that you don't completely hate. Good luck!
